The Big Mac Could Be Changing For The First Time In Almost 50 Years

The Big Mac Could Be Changing For The First Time In Almost 50 Years

Your move, McDonald's...

The Big Mac. It's McDonald's most popular burger ever and hasn't changed in the almost half century it's been on the menu.

From time-to-time you may well fancy something different, but the Big Mac has been an ever-present in our lives whether we've known it or not.

Those two beef patties, the special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions inside a sesame seed bun are as much a part of my life as my own parents.

But change is inevitable and it looks like McDonald's are finally going to change the Big Mac.

The new 'test burgers' have been rolled out in around 130 stores in Texas and Ohio and have been named the Mac Jr and the Grand Mac.

It's pretty simple really, the Mac Jr is a little smaller and the Grand Mac is a bit bigger than your regular Big Mac. So technically speaking, the Big Mac is actually your medium option.

The Mac Jr is expected to be a single-layer burger that can be 'easily eaten on the go' while the Grand Mac, we assume will just have an extra patty in it.

Sadly, McDonald's confirmed to The Independent that there are no plans as yet to introduce the new options to the UK. But it's surely only a matter of time.

All-you-can-eat fries and different versions of the classic Big Mac. Whatever next for McDonald's...
