It's not the women my friends are burying their heads into on a night out, no, it's their bloody phones. Whether it's getting a Tinder date or just being antisocial arseholes, they are hooked while missing out on all sorts of opportunities passing them by.
Like me, a bar owner in East Sussex has seen enough. But unlike me, he may have just created the ultimate way to force his customers to socialise.
Steve Tyler has taken to physics in a desperate attempt to get his customers to socialise through other means than swiping left or right. He has decided to build his very own Faraday cage around his cocktail bar, reports the BBC. A Faraday cage, invented by Michael Faraday, blocks electric fields, so no Net for you.
His shot of ingenious isn't served without a hint controversy surrounding the concept and the no-signal bar has divided opinion with the local community. Many believe that they would feel comfortable without Internet connection in a bar, while others - mainly the older generation - welcome the idea.

"If the person you are with goes to the bathroom, the problem with mobiles is they insulate you from talking to other people," Tyler said. "I want you to enjoy the experience of going out."
In order for this to work, Tyler had to install metal mesh into the walls and ceiling of the bar to essentially filter out electromagnetic signals before customers enter the building.
The Gin Tub has only been open a week and it's already stirring up trouble. I dare you to ask for the wifi code.
