Donald Trump said it is a 'great thing' that the people of Britain have 'taken back their country' by voting to opt out of the EU.
The US presidential candidate is currently in Scotland for the reopening of the newly refurbished Trump Turnberry golf resort.
When asked about the referendum result, which saw Leave beat Remain by 52% percent to 48 percent, he said: "I think it's a great thing that's happened. It's an amazing vote - very historic.

"People are angry all over the world. They're angry over borders, they're angry over people coming into the country and taking over and nobody even knows who they are.
"They're angry about many, many things in the UK, the US and many other places. This will not be the last."
Naturally, the Republican front runner was not exactly welcomed with open arms and a small number of protesters gathered outside the resort with placards reading "No To Racism."
Last year, Trump called for a "total and complete shutdown" of Muslims entering the United States until "our country's representatives can figure out what is going on."

He added: "Basically, they took back their country. That's a great thing.
"I think we're doing very well in the United States also, and it is essentially the same thing that is happening in the United States.
So Donald has had his say.
