Fight. Fight. Fight.

The highly anticipated fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is rumoured to be one step closer to reality, with Mayweather having taken the liberty of booking the MGM Grand for 26 August.

The fight, which is believed to be worth an eye-watering £500 million, has been talked about for what seems like 40 years, with the pair taking shots at each other whenever they can.

Mayweather promised to come out of retirement 'just to fight Conor McGregor', saying: "He's the B-side; I'm the A-side. I'm tired of you always crying about the money, you talking about you want to fight, you're blowing smoke up everybody's ass."

Never missing an opportunity to wind up his potential opponent, McGregor has taken to Instagram to share a sarcastic dig at Mayweather:

Posting a snap of Mayweather fresh from training, he wrote: "Man, much respect to Floyd Senior still getting a few rounds in at the gym. I hope I can still train at that age. Respect."

Mayweather, 40, has already acknowledged the age gap between the two fighters. Speaking earlier this year, he said: "I've been off for a couple of years and I'm 40 years old now. So, I'm a lot older and he still in his 20s.

"So that could play a major key, we don't know. And he's a heavy hitter."

Twenty-eight-year-old McGregor has never boxed professionally, and will be facing off against the undefeated Mayweather, but he certainly doesn't seem to be daunted by the task.

Your move, Mayweather.
