Scotland's Favourite Drink Is Absolutely No Surprise To Anyone

Scotland's Favourite Drink Is Absolutely No Surprise To Anyone

I heard it's made of iron girders

This map of the world claims to show just how dominant Coca-Cola is in the drinks industry, with pretty much every single country having a drink from the Coca-Cola family as their nation's most popular.

I can't say that this surprises me, to be honest, as well as the flagship Coke, the company also owns Fanta and Sprite.

However, perhaps even more unsurprisingly, is the fact that the one country the map shows as not opting for a drink made by Coca-Cola company is Scotland.

Because, naturally, the Scots' favourite fizzy drink is Irn Bru. And quite right, too.

If you've ever been to Scotland you'll know how fiercely proud of the carbonated soft drink they are.

The bright-orange-coloured drink is still made to a top secret recipe - and is, according to local legend, excellent at curing hangovers.

Creators of Irn Bru, Barr, were feeling pretty fucking pleased with themselves after seeing the 'favourite drinks map' and took to Twitter to share the news. Probably cracked open a couple of cold ones to celebrate, too.

But some people have called into question the authenticity of the map, pointing out that Coca-Cola is outlawed in some countries, such as North Korea, due to a US trade embargo.
