We'd all like to be one of those people who seems to be at every great event, witnessing sporting history.

Unfortunately, most of our wallets can't harness the immense strain that comes with going to glamorous occasions, but this guy has proved that money may not be an issue.

Billed as a 'top blagger', Steve Carruthers has managed to rub shoulders with many famous faces over the years after jibbing his way into prestigious events. His most recent blag was to get into Madison Square Garden at the weekend, when watching Conor McGregor make UFC history.

He wasn't just in the arena, though, he was VIP, sat in the front row.

Given the business graduate's success in becoming part of Leonardo Di Caprio's crew last year for the Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquiao fight, he thought he'd try it again for UFC 205.

"I arrived at the event suited and booted to blend in," said the 25-year-old from Hull. "But security was tight so I knew I'd have to be patient."

You'd think, at a location like the Garden, security wouldn't be letting anything slip through their fingers, especially when the likes of Hugh Jackman, Madonna, Zac Efron, Gordon Ramsay, Swizz Beatz and Demi Lovato are coming through the turnstiles. But what happened in reality is that Steve ended up getting selfies with most of them.

"I walked behind a woman when she was having her ticket scanned," he said after admitting he was knocked back. "Then because I was in a suit and shoes, the person on the door of the VIP UFC suite didn't ask me to show my ticket.

"On walking in I realised I'd managed to get into the event for free."

Not only was he in for free, he was sat in a seat worth £5,000. Not too shabby.

The persistent lad didn't stop there, though. After waiting in the lobby of the hotel where Conor was staying, he managed to get a picture with the man of the moment.

If you're up for sharing some tips, Steve, please do.
