Man Has 'Jihad' Registration Plate Banned And Is Sent Replacement

A man has had his car registration plate withdrawn by the DVLA after his bosses spotted it and deemed it inappropriate.

The unnamed driver of a Ford Fiesta had been driving around for six months with the number plate JH11 HAD, which many people couldn't believe he'd gotten away with.

It was spotted driving around Newport, Gwent, when it was reported and subsequently banned.

The owner was reportedly sent a replacement plate.

"How can this be allowed with everything that is going on in the world at the moment?" the woman who reported the plate said.

"I have told the police about it and they said they would make a note of it.

"Surely this plate cannot be legal?"

The personalised reg was bought in October of last year, and somehow 'slipped through the net', the DVLA says.

A DVLA spokesperson said:"We try to identify all combinations that may cause offence, and on the rare occasion where potentially offensive numbers slip through the net, steps are taken to withdraw the number.

"As soon as we became aware of this last week we withdrew it and would have then sent a replacement plate."

There are other combinations of numbers and letters that can't be used either, such as HO57 AGE, O54 MA, as well as sexually explicit OH64 LLS, OR66ASM, DO66ERS, and GO66BLE.

However, 'Britain's rudest number plate' is available for purchase, and will set you back £6,000.

It's gotten its name because of its resemblance to one of the strongest swear words in the English language.

It's being sold through reg suppliers, Absolute Reg, and can be yours for six grand, which seems like a lot of money just to tell people that you're a c*nt.

Jake Smith, managing director at Absolute Reg, told The Mirror: "We've seen a few weird and wonderful plates in our time but this one takes the biscuit.

"It's very unusual for a plate like this to be available."

Jake added: "The DVLA aren't really fans of rude-sounding plates.

"Normally they will pull plates like this off the market before their release date but this one must have slipped through the net so the buyer need not worry.

"It's completely legitimate.

"I think it's fair to say this plate will probably attract a certain type of person, someone with a definite sense of humour, and we're sure there will be a lot of interest.

"Even more so because of how rare it is."

Know anyone who needs this on their car?
