Forget that dogs can smell up to seven different types of cancers; this dog can throw flames out of its back.

Ok, well, technically, it’s a robotic dog. But it’s still insane and something right out of Black Mirror.

This little robot four-legged fiend was created by Throwflame, which is best known for its compact all-electric flamethrowers.

While you can’t buy it just yet, the company has teased that it was built on a Unitree Go1 quadruped robot - similar to Boston Dynamics’ robo ‘Spot; dog.

“Thermonator is the first-ever flamethrower-wielding robot dog. This quadruped is coupled with the ARC Flamethrower to deliver on-demand fire anywhere,” the website reads.

It has several cameras and sensors to navigate without a wireless controller.

And yep, sitting at the top of the design is the company’s ARC Flamethrowers, which uses a built-in fuel tank filled with petrol mixture to shoot just over nine metres of burning fuel for up to 45 minutes when using its largest capacity battery.

The company also said the robot weighs around 4kg.

While you can’t purchase it via the Throwflame just yet, you can ‘join the waitlist to be emailed when this product becomes available’.

The price hasn’t been revealed just yet, but we expect it to be somewhere between the $3-4,000 ballpark.

The company also posted a teaser of the new invention, which had the public absolutely wagging their tails.

One YouTube user wrote: “Deeear Santa. . .”

Another said: “Wow.”

While some were concerned about the lack of regulation over autonomous weapons.

One person said: “Just because you can doesn't mean you should.”

Another commented: “Skynet is becoming a reality.....”

While some people were cheering over such an impressive display of technology, many were quick to reveal their fears.

One penned on Twitter: “This is sad. In what world is this a good idea? I bet the police are salivating at the chance to use these.”

While another said: “So y'all saw two Blade Runners, a Westworld TV show and movie, 10 Terminator movies, two Battlestar Galactica shows, iRobot and still thought this was a good idea. We [are] doomed.”

The future is scary, people.
