England star Ivan Toney charged with assault after incident at nightclub
England footballer Ivan Toney has been charged by police following an incident at a bar in London last year.
The 30-year-old has been charged with assault occasioning actually bodily harm following the alleged incident that occurred during a brawl at a nightclub in Soho on 6 December 2025, the Metropolitan Police said.
Police had been called to the incident at the club on Wardour Street. Toney, who also plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli and was part of the England squad during the World Cup, starring in the victory against France, was charged on 31 July.
He is next due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 24 September, it was confirmed.

In a statement, the Met Police said: “A man has been charged with assault following a Met investigation. Ivan Toney, 30, of Northampton, was charged on Thursday, 31 July with assault causing actual bodily harm.
“He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 24 September. The charge relates to an assault, which reportedly took place on 6 December 2025 at a nightclub on Wardour Street, W1.”
The London Ambulance Service confirmed it sent an ambulance and a paramedic at 1.57am to reports of an alleged assault at the London venue. A spokesperson said: “We assessed three people. We took one patient to a local hospital and discharged the other patients at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Toney said: “Ivan acknowledges the charge and although he is naturally shocked, he looks forward to being given the opportunity to clear his name in court.”
