Rare Sighting Of Cheetahs Having A Threesome Caught On Film

Rare Sighting Of Cheetahs Having A Threesome Caught On Film

There was always that guy at university who would brag about all of his sexual exploits. He'd done everything, he claimed, even some stuff you were fairly certain either didn't exist or if they did would take a team of gymnasts to accomplish.

But the staple of the sexual blaggard, the go-to tale in his arsenal is the threesome. Not only is it physically possible, it's also vaguely believable - I mean, even if you know they're talking tosh there's no way of verifying it. He's got you, but you'll always have your suspicions that it's bullshit.

Well, almost as rare as a human threesome is that involving cheetahs, but in an extraordinary sighting, two males have been spotted mating with the same female.

The fairly brutal act was caught on film, and unlike that guy at uni, these chaps definitely aren't making it up.

It was witnessed by a bunch of tourists on a trip through the Kalahari Desert, in the Tswalu reserve, South Africa, as four giraffes stood by and watched it all unfold.

The clip shows the female struggle to get free of the two males before eventually managing to fight them off.

Juan Vente caught the incident on his camera, and said it's rare to see it in the wild because cheetahs are fairly shy animals.

The 26-year old explained: "When we arrived at the scene, we heard a lot of shouting and screaming and it looked like they were fighting but it was two males in a coalition on the same female with both males trying to mate at the same time.

"This was the reason for all the noise. When I realised what was busy happening my heart bounced out of my chest.

"I had no words. I just told my guests to keep on filming because they will never see this again.

"The cats ended up crawling into a bush hiding, as cheetahs are incredibly shy when mating and we didn't want to bother them as, you need to respect nature.

"I have friends in the industry that have been guiding for more than 15 years and they have never seen this happen.

"As for me, it's possibly the first and the last time that I will ever see something like this again.

"The only time this is seen, is in captivity. I almost want to say that the chance of seeing a pangolin is better than to see this happening.

"This experience had a big impact on my career as I have seen many rare things but personally, this became for sure number one on my personal bests."

The Tswalu Kalahari Reserve is the largest privately run game reserve in South Africa.
