Bam Margera has been arrested for alleged domestic violence incident with woman

Authorities were called to a home in California on reports he kicked an unnamed woman.

Police in the United States have arrested Bam Margera over an alleged domestic violence incident.

The embattled Jackass star has been accused of 'kicking a woman'.

The San Diego Country Sheriff's Department has told TMZ he was taken into custody last week on Thursday (March 2).

Authorities arrived at a home in Escondido, California early in the morning at 5:30.

They were called on reports of a domestic dispute, TMZ reports.

The unnamed woman reportedly told officers she was kicked by Margera and he was put in handcuffs.

The 43-year-old was taken to the Vista Detention Facility on a 'charge of corporal injury on a current or former spouse, cohabitant, dating partner or fellow parent'.

Bail was set at $50,000 and Margera paid it the day after his arrest and was subsequently released from detention.

No charges have yet been filed.

The District Attorney's office will only file charges 'when they believe they can prove them beyond a reasonable doubt'.

The arrest comes shortly after his pal Steve-O spoke about his worries for the former Jackass alum.

Bam has been struggling with addiction, and Steve-O – who has had his own battles on that front – tried to offer some friendly help and advice by taking Margera out on tour with him.

However, after managing to stay sober for many of the dates, Bam relapsed and shared an Instagram post attacking Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine.

Steve-O himself then responded to the message with a comment that concluded with the message: “You’re dying, brother, and it sucks that I can’t do anything to save you.”

However, he now regrets that post after it went massively viral.

On a recent podcast, Steve-O said his partner Lux helped him realise he shouldn’t have brought the whole thing more public than it already was.

He explained: “I posted this comment on Bam’s Instagram because I had just had him on tour with me for 10 days, we did nine shows together, he was really pretty great the whole time, and the whole time he was telling me ‘Dude will you reach out to [Bam’s former partner] Nicky and see if I can spend the day with Phoenix?’"

After those dates were done, Bam got to see his kid and everything seemed rosy...until he started posting about Knoxville and Tremaine.

“For him to go and leave the theatre that night and come like four, five, six in the morning he’s posting hateful stuff about Knoxville and Tremaine, it’s like ‘really dude?’" Steve-O said.

“You know what that means every time. He admitted that it was because he was drunk.

“I was so bummed. I was equally as disappointed as I was unsurprised. It also felt like I beared [sic] some responsibility…

“It was bugging me all day, and his hateful post have been up for 22 hours, so I go ahead and right this comment on there.

“That comment had been up for two minutes and the post that I commented on had been up for 22 hours, plus it was on Bam’s secondary Instagram."
