With boxing legend Muhammad Ali dying little over 24 hours ago it can be argued that this (almost definite) hoax from Tenacious D is in pretty bad taste.
Still, around an hour ago they tweeted "I'm sad to officially announce the death of Jack Black at the age of 46, rest in peace brother."
And then followed it up with the hashtag #RipJackBlack, whether this was a direct response to how people on social media use celebrity deaths to promote their own account or not remains to be seen, But it's certainly very strange.
They then posted another update which read: "It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown."
However, while some people on Twitter are 'OMG THIS CANNOT BE TRU! HALP ME PLS', there is evidence to suggest that it's definitely not true.
Firstly, he appeared on Diplo's Snapchat nine hours ago.
While other people are reporting that he's on a plane back to LA at this very moment.
Until some real confirmation comes in it's best to believe Tenacious D are expertly trolling us or their Twitter account has been hacked.
