Ryan Reynolds Trolls Hugh Jackman With Hilarious 'Anti-Vote' Video
| Last updated
Ryan Reynolds has struck again! The man is one of the best at trolling his fellow celebs and he holds back for absolutely no one - including his own wife. This time - and not for the first time - he's posted a video aimed at Hugh Jackman, who starred alongside him in Marvel's X-Men franchise.
The video has been made in the style of a political propaganda video, serving as a 6-second advertisement for Jackman's upcoming movie, The Front Runner. It's also hilarious.
In the video, Reynolds tells the audience that instead of considering voting for Jackman for any upcoming awards, following his performance as Senator Gary Hart in the movie, they should instead consider his 'facts'.
He states that Jackman's full name isn't just 'Hugh Jackman', but 'Hugh Michael Jackman', adding that the Wolverine actor is actually from Milwaukee - a dubious claim, given that all evidence points to him having been born in Sydney, Australia.
As funny as it is, it's very clear the video is a quirky promo for The Front Runner - in the film Jackman stars as the aforementioned Hart, one of the US presidential candidates in 1988, who's dreams of entering the White House were dashed when his affair with Donna Rice became a public scandal.
The video has some hilarious hidden messages too - it's popped up just days before the mid-term elections happen on 6 November, in which Ryan Reynolds has publicly urged people to vote. In the video, he says 'think before you vote' - nothing too subtle there, eh?
He also makes at the piss out of Jackman hanging up his claws as Wolverine, saying that his pal 'walked off the job... adding to unemployment'.
Reynolds has been dying to get his bestie to put on the torn vest one last time to star alongside his Marvel character Deadpool - something he should definitely do, just imagine the on-screen chemistry - but, unfortunately it's a request Jackman continues to deny.
Underneath it all you can tell the Deadpool actor has a great love for his pal - trolling or otherswise, this is essentially an advertisement to support Jackman's upcoming movie, done in the most Ryan Reynolds way possible.
And despite a healthy amount of piss-takeage, Reynolds does call Jackman an 'amazing actor and nice person' - through all the trolling, the bromance is there. D'aww, enough to warm the cockles of your heart, innit?
