Four-year-old boy dies after 'serious incident' at Center Parcs

Police confirmed the tragedy at Longleat Center Parcs

A four-year-old boy has died after an incident at Center Parcs Longleat Forest, near Warminster, on Saturday morning (24 December).

Wiltshire Police said officers had attended the leisure complex at Longleat, Wiltshire, in support of the South Western Ambulance Service on Christmas Eve morning.

In a statement, the force said: "Sadly, it's been confirmed that a four-year-old boy has died following an incident at Center Parcs Longleat Forest near Warminster shortly after 11am this morning (24/12).

"This is not being treated as suspicious.

"Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this difficult time."

Wiltshire Police confirmed the tragic news.

A witness has been reported as claiming that the incident occurred in the wave pool at the park.

According to The Sun, a woman watched the horrific event unfold.

She is quoted as saying: "My daughter and son saw it as well - she’s quite upset."

Center Parcs said in a statement: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news that a young guest has passed away at Longleat Forest today (24th December).

"We are offering our support to the family and to our employees who provided immediate assistance.

"Our thoughts remain with the family at this very difficult time."
