The UK's first-ever Chinese takeaway drive-thru is opening this weekend.

WIYO, which stands for What Is Your Order?, was first thought of by the owners five years ago but it isn't until now that it's finally ready for customers.

"The aim was to make Chinese takeaway food quicker and more convenient for the masses," WIYO told LADbible.

The owners, Leon freeman, Sally Gallagher and Dominic Freeman, came up with the idea around a kitchen table and have worked with a leading chef to develop the menu.

The chef has worked in some of the biggest Chinese restaurants in the north west and will be cooking up takeaway favourites for those visiting the drive-thru.

On the menu, there's the likes of Salt and Pepper Chicken, Shredded Chilli Beef and Chicken in Black Bean Sauce.

WIYO's meals range from £7-£11.

Meals range from £7-£11 and come with a variety of options; one main, one base and a drink for £7, two mains, two bases and a drink for £9 or three mains, three bases and a drink for £11.

Bases include fries and rice with side dishes also available of battered spring rolls and chicken nuggets.

WIYO said: "Considering how popular Chinese food is in England, we were confused why no one had developed the concept before now."

The Warrington-based restaurant explained that despite having the project 'derailed' when Leon was in hospital for several months, WIYO is now ready to go following a successful soft launch weekend.

Alongside their 'simple menu' is the rather unique Salt + Pepper Sub for £11 - featuring salt and pepper chicken tenders in a sub roll with lettuce, crispy onions, house-special honey soy mayonnaise and served with a pot of curry sauce, fries and drink.

After spending four years finding the 'perfect site', WIYO will open in a car park in Warrington town centre on Saturday.

"The goal is to make wiyo the McDonald’s of the chinese fast food industry. We’re already looking at franchises in Manchester, Liverpool, Essex and hope to make this national," they said.

"We’ve been approached by some of the biggest restaurant group investors in the country already and we’ve only been open for one weekend."

Sitting on Old Road car park in Warrington town centre, WIYO will open on Saturday 17 June for cars to come along and order meals from this 'first ever Chinese takeaway drive-thru'.

WIYO will open at WA4 1AT in Warrington.
