The UK’s most dangerous prisoner, who has been in solitary confinement for almost 50 years, has warned that he would ‘kill again’ if ever released.
Robert Maudsley, 73, is serving a life sentence for four murders and has spent most of his sentence at HMP Wakefield where he was kept in solitary confinement inside a specially-built ‘glass’ cell for decades.
Maudsley carried out his first killng in 1974, when a man named John Farrell picked him up for sex and showed him images of child sexual abuse.
After the killing, Maudsley handed himself in and told officials he needed psychiatric help.

Maudsley was subsequently sent to the notorious Broadmoor Hospital for manslaughter, but while there he killed child molester David Francis.
He was later moved to HMP Wakefield, where he killed another two inmates, both of whom were reportedly sex offenders.

It had initially been reported that Maudsley had eaten the brain of one of his victims with a spoon earning him the terrifying nickname of ‘Hannibal the Cannibal’ in the press and the ‘Brain Eater’ among his fellow inmates.
However, a postmortem revealed that Maudsley had not eaten the man’s brains.
As a result of his crimes, Maudsley is serving a life sentence with a recommendation that he is never released, with a decent chunk of that sentence - 17,500 days - spent in solitary confinment.
A couple of years back, he was moved to HMP Whitemoor in Cambridgeshire, where it was recently reported he’d gone on hunger strike due to being unhappy with his treatment at the prison.
Now Maudsley has given his first interview in almost 50 years and has chillingly admitted that he thinks he could kill again.
Speaking to The Mirror, Maudsley said: "I have to be honest and say that if I had the opportunity to harm a sex offender then I would do so. If I met someone who had sexually abused me, I would do my best to kill them.

"When I went back to Liverpool, I had the desire to kill both my parents, and then I had the desire to harm myself. I wanted to get my own back, including my father, and I visualised killing my parents."
Maudsley told his prison psychologist Dr Bob Johnson that he had been abused by his father and was locked in a cupboard under the stairs.
Talking to the publication about his parents, he said: "We called them the drunk, and the witch. We referred to them by those names rather than as mother and father.
"I do have the possibility within myself to kill again, but with therapy, I think that I could overcome that."
Maudsley also revealed that he used to be cell ‘neighbours’ with Charles Bronson but admitted that the two didn’t get on.
He recalled one night the two of them having an argument over what to watch on TV, which resulted in Maudsley asking the guard to open up the gap for the TV and kicking his foot through it.
"Charlie was not very happy about that,” he added.
