A man has taken matters into his own hands in the most hilarious way to stop people speeding near his home; you can see how he did it below:

Rob Adcock (TikTok - @robdidatiktok; Instagram - @robadcock) decided to get creative when the road near his house in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire became subject to cars not sticking to the 30mph speed limit.

Taking to TikTok, Rob revealed the lengths he went to in making a 'fake speed camera van' to tackle the issue.

Explaining that it 'does [his] tree in', the dad shared a video of 'some muppet' flying past him, clearly not doing 30mph.

He said: "Some lads crashed into our garden once, true story."

"It is doing the nut in of all the people who live round here, they're not happy. So I thought what could I do to help? What actually makes people slow down?" he said.

Rob reflected that he couldn't make speed bumps because of not having tarmac, that the 'speed flashy things' just didn't seem to really work, but that 'one thing which does look like it does the trick is a speed camera van'.

Using reflectors, high vis, and a speed camera sign Adock was ready to go. With a few edits made to the sign, including a 'This is NOT a' before the words 'Speed Camera', Rob explained that it 'couldn't have gone much better'.

A spokesperson for the Staffordshire Police said Rob's van doesn't appear to break any laws and hasn't been reported, as per The Sun.

They stated: "The force, as part of the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership, welcomes and encourages feedback from communities in relation to matters surrounding road safety.

"Local officers are working to reach out to the resident to discuss his concerns."

The dad recorded videos of cars slamming on the breaks after spotting the van.

Although, he noted that it wasn't just one type of car which was particularly guilty of appearing to break the speed limit.

"It would be unfair to say it's all tradesman. It would be unfair to say it's all BMW or Mercedes drivers. It's all walks of life," he commented.

While clarifying that he didn't have a monitor and so couldn't tell if drivers were, in fact, breaking the limit, Rob concluded by joking if anyone wanted him 'to come park this van near you' that they should let him know in the comments – a section of which has been quickly filled with other TikTokers left in hysterics over the idea, while others were baffled by the lengths Rob went to.

"Bet you're fun at parties," one said.

Another wrote: "This is class lad."

"What's the male version of a Karen?" a third commented.
