Ed Sheeran surprises unsuspecting fans by gatecrashing youth concert

He then played “Eyes Closed” with the kids before handing out signed guitars and concert tickets.

Ed Sheeran really is one of a kind.

Not only does his talent speak for itself, but his kind-hearted nature away from the sold-out stadium tours really sets him apart from your other standard celebs.

And that generosity was on show yet again when Ed decided to surprise some unsuspecting fans by turning up to a youth concert in Boston.

That's right, young musicians were stunned when they noticed a familiar-looking red head walking towards their stage at a recent concert.

In a completely random and unannounced visit, Ed gatecrashed a youth orchestra recital in Boston and decided to play alongside the talented youngsters.

The wholesome moment was captured on camera and posted to social media by local radio station Kiss 108.

In the heartwarming clip, the British fan favourite can be seen emerging from the crowd before joining the performers on stage.

"I used to play cello when I was a kid. This reminds me of the things I used to play," he said.

"This is so good guys, so good. You guys are fantastic. Thanks for letting me play with you."

The group then went on to perform Ed's new track 'Eyes Closed', while Sheeran himself supported with some vocals and guitar work.

But the 32-year-old wasn't done there.

After wrapping up the incredible performance, Ed invited all of the performers and audience members to his show.

"If you all want tickets to tonight's show, you can all have tickets to tonight's show," Ed told the performers.

"We'll hook you and your families up."

And instead of darting off, Ed stayed behind to take pictures and sign autographs for those in the crowd.

One lucky lad even managed to get his hands on a signed guitar from singer-songwriter – not bad.

When Kiss 108 posted the video to Instagram, it immediately went viral, racking up thousands of views.

One person commented: "This is so beautiful. We don't deserve him."

While another added: "He is awesome!!! So kind!!!"

As a third said: "Using his platform in such an awesome way."

It's understood Ed is currently on the road in the United States doing his Mathematics Tour.

Having already sold out shows all across Europe, he will head over to Canada for a brief stint before finishing off in the United States again.

His final show will be at the brand-new SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on the 23rd of September.
