Elon Musk apparently wanted a spot on the guest list for Jeffrey Epstein's 'wildest party' on his infamous island, according to newly released documents.
Email exchanges between the tech billionaire and the disgraced financier were among more than three million files published by the US Department of Justice on Friday (30 January).
It's not the first time Musk's name has been mentioned in the hordes of paperwork - but when it previously came up in September last year, he insisted: "Epstein tried to get me to go to his island and I REFUSED."
The latest dump of documents has now cast doubt over his claim, as shocking emails show how the Tesla boss allegedly tried to organise a visit to Little Saint James.

Previous releases by US officials have prompted the publication of images taken on Epstein's island, which California congressman Robert Garcia said provided a 'disturbing look into the world of Jeffrey Epstein'. Musk has not been accused of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein despite appearing in the documents, and he has now shared a statement suggesting his inclusion is an attempt to 'smear' his name.

Emails sent in November 2012 show the SpaceX CEO reportedly expressing interest in planning a trip to Epstein's island.
According to the latest documents, he appeared to make reference to his former wife Talulah Riley in the messages after Epstein asked 'how many people' would need transporting to the island via helicopter.
"Probably just Talulah and me," Musk said. "What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?"
The father-of-14 then followed up on 25 December that year, asking: "Do you have any parties planned? I’ve been working to the edge of sanity this year and so, once my kids head home after Christmas, I really want to hit the party scene in St Barts or elsewhere and let loose. The invitation is much appreciated, but a peaceful island experience is the opposite of what I’m looking for."
Epstein replied saying: "Understood, I will see you on St Barth, the ratio on my island might make Talulah uncomfortable," to which Musk said: "Ratio is not a problem for Talulah."

In January 2013, Musk then appeared to backtrack on the proposed trip as he told Epstein that 'logistics won’t work this time around'.
They later tried to iron out the details of Musk's visit eleven months later, as the documents show how the 54-year-old told the sex offender: "Will be in the BVI/St Bart’s area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?"
Epstein then replied: "Any day 1st - 8th. Play it by ear if you want. Always space for you."
These plans also ultimately fell through though, as after deciding on a date, Epstein explained that his schedule forced him to stay in New York.
Apologising for derailing the trip, Epstein wrote: "I was really looking forward to finally spending some time together with just fun as the agenda. So I am very disappointed. Hopefully we can schedule another time in the near future."
There is no evidence to suggest that Musk ever made it onto Little Saint James, despite his apparent repeated efforts to visit.

In a statement shared to X in wake of the emails being publicised, Musk said: "No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released and I’m glad that has finally happened.
"I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his 'Lolita Express', but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.
"I don’t care about that, but what I do care about is that we at least attempt to prosecute those who committed serious crimes with Epstein, especially regarding heinous exploitation of underage girls."
Musk had previously called for the documents related to Epstein to be released and memorably told the world that 'the real reason' they hadn't seen the light of day was because President Donald Trump's name was included.
LADbible has contacted Musk's representatives for comment.

The new files appear to show how Musk later drastically changed his tune in regards to Epstein after the financier was arrested in 2019.
Despite previously sharing messages of a friendly nature, Musk said Epstein was 'obviously a creep' in an interview with Vanity Fair, while explaining the supposed parameters of their relationship.
"Several years ago, I was at his house in Manhattan for about 30 minutes in the middle of the afternoon with Talulah [Riley], as she was curious about meeting this strange person for a novel she was writing," he said.
"We did not see anything inappropriate at all, apart from weird art. He tried repeatedly to get me to visit his island. I declined."
Elsewhere in the document dump, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was pictured appearing to kneel over a woman, while the files also audaciously alleged that Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
Epstein was found dead in his cell at a federal jail in Manhattan, New York, in August 2019 while he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was ruled a suicide.
