Jennifer Lawrence Reveals What Worried Her About Filming Naked For Red Sparrow

Weirdly enough it wasn’t being absolutely starkers in a room full of people

We've all got hang-ups about our bodies; we've either got too much of something, or not enough of something else.

Luckily for most of us we don't have all of our outfits and photographs scrutinised by the world's media, or have to get all of our kit off on a film set in front of everyone else before showing it to the world.

Jennifer Lawrence is not as lucky as most of us. As far as media scrutiny goes, she gets it pretty bad.

The other day she appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about her new film Red Sparrow.

The film sees Lawrence play a Russian ballerina who becomes a spy after a career ending injury and is trained to use manipulation and sex to get answers from targets.

The film is the first film in which Lawrence has appeared completely naked, despite saying on several occasions in the past that she would never do that.

When asked by Ellen why she decided to eventually do a fully naked scene she joked: "I think I finally just got hot."

She then answered the question seriously, saying: "To me it was really just an amazing script and story.

"I loved the character and I just didn't want to miss out on it because of like my weird insecurities so I did it and it was really lovely."

Lawrence said that the whole awkwardness of getting your kit off in front of a whole room full of people was made easier by the fact that she was familiar with an lot of the people working on the film.

She did reveal that she still had some hang-ups that she found it difficult to shake off, including (bizarrely) the size of her nipples.

She told Ellen: "All of the crew were all from Hunger Games, they were very nice - they went in at 3 in the morning to set up heaters because it was a very Hungarian winter and I was always complaining about being cold.

"Then I came in and it was so toasty and warm and I was like 'What are you doing with this heat? My nipples are going to be huge."

As well as saying that the scenes empowered her, she addressed the criticism that she has received recently for not wearing a coat (how dare she?) during an outside photoshoot for a radio interview.

She said: "It was a fabulous dress I wasn't going to cover it up in a f*****g coat.

"Also, I shoot in below freezing weather in record-breaking winters; I can stand outside for 90 seconds in a dress.

"All these people trying to be feminist, you're not you're loud, you're annoying, you have no point and what you also do, you make people hate a movement."

Also, if you're bent out of shape about whether a woman wears a coat or not, you should probably get a hobby.
