A widow has spoken out about the horrifying moment she was told there had been 'an incident' with the MH370 flight her husband was on. Catch the trailer for the new Netflix docuseries about the flight here:

On 8 March, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight 370 took off from Kuala Lumpar, heading to Beijing, China, with husband and father-of-two Paul Weeks and 238 other passengers and members of crew on board.

Hours into the flight, radars were left unable to locate the plane and it was never seen again.

Weeks' widow, Danica, has since opened up about the day her husband left their home in Perth to travel to his new job in China and the moment she was called and alerted something had gone wrong with his flight.

In a recently released (Wednesday, 8 March) three-part Netflix docuseries titled MH370: The Plane That Disappeared, Danica revealed the day Paul left was 'very emotional'.

The father had reportedly been hesitant about taking a job so far from home meaning he'd be away from his family for weeks at a time, but Danica was persistent he would not waste the opportunity.

Danica recalls how there were 'a lot of tears' shed by herself, Paul and their two sons, Jack and Lincoln.

In the documentary she says: "The boys blew kisses and said they loved them and they walked out the door… and that was like it was yesterday."

The last communication the family ever had? An email Paul sent just before boarding the flight reading: "You and the boys are my world."

Danica only became aware something had gone wrong with the flight when she received a call from a reporter.

The mum said: "I thought what does she want with Paul and she said, 'You haven’t heard?', and I said, 'Heard what?' and she said there had been an incident with the plane.

"I dropped the phone and ran outside screaming."

Danica is one of multiple family members to be featured in the Netflix docuseries, alongside several journalists and scientists.

MH370: The Plane That Disappeared delves into the flight's disappearance by reconstructing the events leading up to it and investigating several conspiracy theories in the hope of shedding light on a mystery which still remains unanswered.

In the series, Danica resolves: "I promised him from day dot I would find him and bring him home and I haven’t done that.

"Until I do there will be no peace."
