Gordon Ramsay's known to dish it out on social media if he doesn't like something, meaning others are often more than happy to reciprocate - as they have done with his recipe for a swanky twist on a burger. He explains it in the video below:

Many of us can probably agree that, when it comes to burgers, simple is often best. A good-quality, well-seasoned meat patty, a soft, pillowy bun and maybe a slice of cheddar - all topped off with a slice of tomato, a piece of lettuce and a gherkin, if you're feeling healthy.

But Ramsay's latest creation is anything but simple. Instead, it's a dish that combines more than 20 ingredients to create an 'Onion Tatin Apple-Butter Basted Burger With Melted Camembert'.

Doesn't roll off the tongue quite as easily as 'Big Mac', does it?

Ramsay posted a video on Instagram showing others how they could make it at home, writing: "Looking for the perfect #Burger recipe for the long weekend? Apple Butter Basted and a bun to wow.....this recipe is it! Head to my stories now for the full recipe."

The online recipe features an extensive list of ingredients for the 'Onion Tatin Buns' and 'GR's Burger Blend', meaning you may need a big trolley when you pop out to the shops.

Those ingredients are (deep breath): granulated sugar, unsalted butter, hard apple cider, molasses, red onion, Pink Lady apple, puff pastry, all-purpose flour, more butter, black and white sesame seeds, ground short rib, ground chuck, ground sirloin, granulated garlic, kosher salt, black pepper, apple butter, more butter, lettuce, mustard, ketchup and camembert. Oof!

And it seems Ramsay's followers aren't impressed by the colossal burger, with some saying it looks 'disgusting' and 'c**p'.

Meanwhile others reckon it's simply too large to eat - pointing out that this is something the celebrity chef has criticised others for in the past.

One person commented: "That does not look good at all."

Someone else wrote: "Disgusting. Looks like sloppy donkey s*** on a plate swimming in grease."

A third agreed: "Burger looks c**p to be honest."

Another said: "That's not a burger, it's a softball sized meatloaf. What's wrong with a simple patty, salt and pepper, thrown on the grill like dad used to make?"

Suggesting Ramsay's oversized burger was a hypocritical move, another person raged: "I've seen you laugh at restaurants because of extreme large burgers that is impossible to give a bite and now you make this monstrosity, pretty unfair."

Another person agreed: "Not for nothing but did you complain about burgers being too big to fit in your mouth on an episode of Hell's Kitchen? Then you make this monster? @gordongram come on man."

Quoting Ramsay himself, one Instagrammer also joked: "IT'S RAAAAWWW!!!"
