US chicken brand Popeyes is opening its first ever UK branch, with plans to open up hundreds of restaurants in the coming years.
Following on from its success in Spain and Switzerland, Popeyes has now got its sights set on the UK and hopes to have its first branch open by the end of this year and 350 opening over the next decade.
Popeyes, which was founded in New Orleans in 1972, promises customers 'authentic Louisiana flavours' and says its UK offerings will be no different.

Among the items Brits will finally be able to get their hands on, is the signature Chicken Sandwich.
According to the company: "Popeyes believes that the best food takes time, starting by marinating the chicken for 12 hours in bold Louisiana seasonings while using fresh and locally sourced chicken.
"All Popeyes chefs are classically trained and bring an uncompromising passion for food and a commitment to honour Louisiana food, flavours and traditions."

Popeyes is not the only US fast-food chain set to make the trip across the pond in coming months, with Wendy's recently announcing it would be opening up a branch in Reading, followed by another in Oxford.
The chain also said it was exploring 'additional opportunities' in the London area, adding that it was looking for franchise owners for the new stores.
A Wendy's spokesperson said: "I can confirm that Wendy's will be opening in the United Kingdom in the first half of this year.
"Our first location will be in Reading and I can also confirm that we will open a restaurant in Oxford.

"The brand is excited to enter the UK with company-owned and operated restaurants this year, and we are looking for franchisees to grow with us across the UK."
