TikTok User's Beans On Toast Recipe Branded 'National Outrage'

The TikTok user famous for THAT cup of tea tutorial has returned with another controversial take on British food and drink

Remember the American TikTok user who angered the internet when she shared a tutorial for making a cup of 'British tea'? Well, now she's back, and this time she's taken on the national staple of beans on toast... I'll warn you now: it's not pretty.

Beans on toast is, of course, a basic dish that involves toasting two pieces of bread and buttering them, before topping them with hot baked beans fresh from a can.

Its beauty lies in its simplicity; you can add a little grated cheddar if you like it cheesy, or even a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce, but the main premise is both cheap and easy.

That is unless you're TikTok user @jchelle36, an American woman living in the UK, who's been documenting life across the pond with her 191,000 followers.

After winding everyone up with her take on 'hot tea', now Michelle has shared a new cooking video for what she's claiming is 'beans on toast', though many users have disputed that's what they're witnessing.

In the clip, Michelle says: "Everyone has requested that I make a traditional British breakfast, so today we're gonna make beans on toast!

"So the first step is you wanna get your bread, then you want to add the beans."

Emptying the tin onto the untoasted slice of bread, she adds: "I'm just gonna pour mine on there, juice and all."

Next, she grabs a slice of processed cheese (you know, the ones wrapped in plastic that you normally pop on a burger at a BBQ) and places it on top of the beans.

"Then you wanna put it in the microwave," she says, before finishing with a smile: "And that's how you make beans on toast!"

As with her other video, Michelle'sapproach sent some social media users into overdrive, referring to the video as 'a national outrage' and 'an absolute travesty'.

One commented: "Nobody in the UK has ever, ever made beans on toast in this manner."

Another said: "Surely it isn't toast if you don't put it in a toaster."

A third added: "Dear God! This is not a British Breakfast and as importantly it is not how to make beans on toast."

But many others pointed out that Michelle is most likely trolling everyone and that her entire TikTok feed is one big parody on British life - in which case, she's absolutely nailed it.

Someone wrote: "I prefer to think you are next level trolling in which case bravo Madame."

Another person agreed: "She is the best troll ever."

Just wait 'til you see her microwaved 'British eggs' with sugar and whipped cream...
