'Diagnosed psychopath' explains three feelings that could be key signs of the disorder

Do you notice any of the signs?

It's incredible what people are willing to share on the internet these days and weirdly you perhaps wouldn't be surprised to hear that there's a woman out there sharing videos about her experience as a 'diagnosed psychopath.'

There have been plenty of people described as psychopaths throughout history because of the horrifying things that they have done, with Jeffrey Dahmer a prime example, but a neuroscientist recently concluded that the serial killer did not 'fit the mold.'

However, one TikTok account titled VicthePath, reckons she shows all the signs of psychopathy and spends her time alluding to how the condition impacts her life.

Of course, whatever she shares should be taken with caution, as most health professionals suggest that you cannot actually be diagnosed as a psychopath, with most instead diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder (ASPD), but it turns out that the three feelings she thinks can be associated with psychopaths.

So, what are the three feelings?

Adrenaline seeking

It's easy to label the people that like to jump out of planes as crazy due to the risk of death, and you'd certainly never catch me purposely putting my faith in a parachute to keep me alive.

And Vic reckons this desire to put yourself at risk for your own enjoyment is a potential sign of psychopathy, with the science backing her up here.

A research paper from the National Library of Medicine suggests that thrill-seeking is a strong predictor of psychopathy, particularly in females, and the concept of fearlessness is also often associated with psychopaths.

Getting what you want

Always getting what you want sounds like a dream, or perhaps the sign of a spoiled child, but perhaps psychopaths would take extreme measures to ensure that this always happens, and its another which Vic suggests is a potential sign of psychopathy.

This is something they can potentially achieve through charismatic and manipulative behaviour, which is something perhaps most closely associated with Ted Bundy, who famously confessed to killing 30 women in his life, but is believed by authorities to have been responsible for far more.

According to a list of 20 signs from Choosing Therapy, charming behaviour and the exploitation of others for personal gain are two things which you need to look out for.

Low anxiety

This alleged key sign is a little more disputed amongst medical experts, as who wouldn't want to not have any sort of anxiety in social situations or speaking to new people.

And another medical paper from the National Library of Medicine found that psychopathy and the anxiety construct are essentially independent, meaning that its incorrect to suggest that all psychopathic individuals don't suffer any form of anxiety, but it does line up with the charismatic and confident behaviour that can often be seen among psychopaths.
