According to health experts, men can orgasm without ejaculating, as they're two different things.
You've probably gone your whole life thinking that these two were the same thing, but according to those who are the most clued up on all things sex, it's not that simple.
These two processes are separate from one another, though both are linked to the male-aligned sexual hormone known as testosterone. It is produced by the testicles, which also generate millions of sperm cells every day.
This contributes to sexual arousal and desire, as a low testosterone count can often result in a low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, or the inability to orgasm altogether.

But if you're in prime condition and ready to go while loaded up with testosterone, it turns out that you can orgasm without anything coming out of your old chap.

Basically, ejaculation is just a step leading to the orgasm of a man's sexual body organs.
To get all scientific, after the man is aroused, the penis's shaft is filled with blood, which causes the blood to flow at a rate 50x quicker than normal, resulting in an erection.
According to Men's Health Clinic, once someone reaches the peak point of arousal, indicated by an increase in muscle tension and heart rate, the body will be ready for an orgasm.

This can last anywhere from seconds to over two minutes, with ejaculation typically consisting of rapid-fire contractions of the penile muscles, including the base of the anus, according to official health advice.
After this, the penis loses its erection, with the man feeling more relaxed and requiring a recovery phase before being able to sustain another erection, which can be anywhere from 15 minutes to 20 hours, depending on age.
But how can someone orgasm without ejaculating?
While you may think of edging or gooning, there is another way in which men can feel sexual satisfaction without any fluid coming out of their manhood.

For some men, no semen comes out with their orgasm, with this being called a 'dry ejaculation', say Maze Men's Health.
The process of ejaculation is controlled by a lower spinal cord nodule, which is responsible for regulating sexual response.
Essentially, an orgasm is the feeling you get with the climax, while ejaculation is the process of semen coming out of your penis.
Everyone's body is different; some can feel the orgasm prior to the ejaculation, while others think it's the other way around, with both being perfectly normal, according to the publication.
While the pulsating contractions of ejaculation feel great, they're not part of the orgasm any more than the stimulation on the penis is.

You can actually learn to separate these two, with some men learning to have multiple orgasms without ejaculation until they decide to let go.
Obviously, it requires a lot of practice and may even involve prostate simulation, or other parts of the body, but the fact that having an orgasm and ejaculating are two different things is enough to baffle most men.
