
A shocking simulation shows exactly what happens when you fast for a week, after a YouTuber revealed the impacts of his own experiment.
A man shared his journey of him eating nothing for a whole week, only drinking water to hydrate himself.
The result? 4.5 kilograms of lost weight, and a newfound outlook on life.
Fasting has been used for ages to aid in health.

Essentially, it puts the body into metabolic ketosis after 19 hours without sugar or food, leading to the body switching up how it chooses to use energy.
From there, some will fast long enough to reach autophagy - when the body begins to heal its own cells.
Not everyone will stick it out long enough to feel this benefit, as they prefer shorter rewards like those you get on the OMAD (one meal a day) diet.
But for Justin Dorff, fasting for seven days was exactly what he needed to overcome a challenging couple of months.

The YouTuber explained the reasons why he decided to take on the fasting experiment.
Justin said: “For the past 2 months, I've been feeling tired. I've got nagging injuries. I've got this low-level stress. I crave junk food. I feel kind of sad and not really myself.
“Basically, everything hurts and I'm dying.”
While it took him five days to get to the good side of fasting, when he finally reached ‘God Mode’, he said it changed everything.
So, how did it happen?

A simulation posted to YouTube by the channel Drwealz, revealed what happens to your body when you go without food for so long.
It shared that there are changes happening in your body that you won’t be aware of.
The video stated: “As you fast, your insulin levels drop due to a delay in your normal supply of fuel, or glucose.”
During this time, your body goes into ketosis, which uses a different fuel to convert to energy.
“As a result, the extra glucose stored in your fat cells is used as energy instead of being absorbed from the food and liquids you consume,” the clip stated.
This, ultimately, leads to weight loss during the first couple of days of fasting.

Once you reach four to six days, you’re entering that ‘God Mode’ Justin referred to.
“Overnight I went from zombie mode to god mode. God mode is the phase that usually hits somewhere between days four and six,” Justin revealed.
“Your brain switches to running on ketones instead of glucose. Hunger drops and growth hormone and adrenaline skyrocket. And suddenly, you get a huge boost in energy, focus, mental clarity, and mood.”
Justin admitted: “Instead of just trying to survive and distract myself, I was able to focus on what really matters. I spent time with my wife. I caught up with friends. I'm not sorry. I was actually able to enjoy myself and be present in each moment, at least until day seven.
“It was like I was 10 years old again, waking up on Christmas morning. Except instead of presents, I was just excited to chew again. The finish line was so close. I could smell it.”
