The trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 has finally dropped, and the Sanderson sisters are back in action.
Check it out here:
The 80-second clip sees Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles, and we can’t wait to see what the evil witch siblings have in store for us.
The second Hocus Pocus instalment will arrive nearly 30 years after the first film, with Disney having announced last month we’ll be able to get our eyeballs around the sequel on 30 September.
Aside from Winnie, Sarah and Mary Sanderson being back on the scene, the trailer reveals the famous Black Flame Candle is returning, as is the magic book.
Plot-wise, Hocus Pocus 2 sees the Sandersons embark on a revenge mission after being accidentally brought back to modern-day Salem by three high-schoolers (played by Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo).
Said pupils must then try and stop the Sanderson sisters from wreaking total havoc on the city before sunrise on All Hallows' Eve, Digital Spy reports.
At a presentation last month, Disney treated audiences to a sneak peek of the upcoming film, playing footage which showed the young girls accidentally summoning the witches.
Doug Jones will reprise his role as Billy Butcherson and the cast list also includes Ted Lasso's Hannah Waddingham, Veep stars Tony Hale and Sam Richardson, plus Froy Gutierrez, Taylor Paige Henderson, Juju Brener and Nina Kitchen.
The original film was released back in 1993 and the nineties spookfest was directed by Kenny Ortega. Anne Fletcher has picked up the directing reigns on Hocus Pocus 2.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight back in 2017, Ortega said he was only really up for doing Hocus Pocus 2 it if Midler, Parker and Najimy were too.
He said: "I would like to see a sequel, and I think fans would like to see a sequel. I think it would be much more fun to bring the ladies back."
Ortega continued: "They're all still vital and in their prime and capable of doing so much that it would be great to see Bette and Kathy and Sarah come back together to do another movie and I think they would like to."
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly to mark Hocus Pocus’ 25th anniversary, Parker gushed about the movie's long-lasting magic, saying it's 'wonderful' that people are still enjoying it.
She said at the time: "I don't think any of us who were making it at the time thought Hocus Pocus would have such a long life.
"People tell me all the time they grew up watching it, and that they still watch it. I think it's wonderful."
