A fitness influencer has died aged 30 after taking on an extreme challenge which saw him consume around 10,000 calories a day in preparation for a weight-loss programme.
Dmitry Nuyanzin, from Orenburg, Russia, had built up an audience of more than 43,000 followers on his Instagram, where he documented his fitness work and later his dramatic weight-gain experiment.
The trainer planned to deliberately put on around 25kg before losing the weight again alongside people taking part in his course.
As part of the challenge, Nuyanzin was reportedly eating close to four times the recommended daily calorie intake for men, with his meals made up largely of high-calorie fast food and snacks.

Explaining his plan to followers, he said, as pointed out by Daily Star: "Friends! My WEIGHT LOSS COURSE is starting very soon, where you can win awesome prizes and, most importantly, build a beautiful body, learn how to eat well, and enjoy working out! I'll be losing weight with my students, so it'll be doubly exciting!"

The influencer also shared exactly what he was eating during the health experiment.
He said: "I am currently gaining weight for my weight-loss course, and this is my 10,000-calorie diet.
"For breakfast, I have a plate of pastries and half a cake. For lunch, I usually eat 800 grams of dumplings with mayonnaise. During the day, I may snack on crisps, and for dinner, I have a burger and two small pizzas, either at a café or delivered."
Over the space of around a month, Nuyanzin's weight reportedly rose from approximately 92kg (202lbs) to 105kg (231lbs), meaning he had gained at least 13kg (29lbs).
He had also offered a cash incentive to followers, promising to pay 10,000 rubles to people weighing more than 100kg (220lbs) who managed to lose 10 percent of their body weight by New Year's Eve, as reported by PerthNow.
However, the challenge came to an abrupt end after Nuyanzin began feeling unwell.

According to reports, he cancelled gym sessions and told friends he intended to see a doctor. He later died in his sleep, with reports stating that he had suffered cardiac arrest.
His final Instagram post, shared on 18 November, showed him holding a packet of crisps while rubbing his stomach. The translated caption read: "I wanted it and I was able to!"
Tributes later appeared online describing the trainer as a bright and positive person.
Nuyanzin had graduated from the Orenburg Olympic Reserve School and the National Fitness University in St Petersburg, and was reported to have trained high-profile clients during his career.
The British Heart Foundation warns that carrying excess weight can increase the risk of conditions linked to heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol and type 2 diabetes.
However, an official cause of Nuyanzin's death has not been publicly released.
