A US optometrist has shared a clip showing a simple test to check if you have astigmatism.
Astigmatism means your eye is more rugby-ball shaped than round, according to the NHS, which means that 'light is focused at more than one place in the eye'.

As a result, those who have astigmatism can be left with blurred vision, headaches and eye strain - so it's important to get it checked out if you think this applies to you and it's usually simply corrected with glasses or contacts.
Posting on TikTok, Dr Brittani Carver from the Better Vision Optometric Centre in Fayetteville, US, explained: "Astigmatism is when your eye is shaped like an American football, it can cause blurry vision but can be corrected with glasses or contacts.
"Do you have astigmatism?
"Well, if you don't know, let's do a screening test to see."

She then shared a picture showering a circle with some black lines coming off it before asking people to cover each eye in turn.
She went on: "What we're going to look at is the star here.
"What we're looking for is any lines that are darker or blurrier or stand out.
"If you see lines either up and down, side to side that are standing out, that is a screening test to let you know that you do have astigmatism.

"Now, switch eyes and do the exact same thing."
The clip has been viewed more than a million times with many people saying its shown them they most likely have the condition.
One person asked: "So, can I have this in just one eye? Covered right and the vertical lines stood out, covered left eye and all lines were the same."
Another commented: "My right eye 100 percent does. Wow. Didn't realise it was this bad."
A third said: "I see diagonal at 4 o'clock and 10 o'clock when I cover my right eye. What do I do now?"

To which Dr Carver replied: "That means you may have astigmatism and need an eye exam. Go and see your local optometrist."
If you think you may have astigmatism after doing the test, then you should go and get it checked out with your optician.
