It's one of the best horror movies of all time - who could forget Sigourney Weaver killing monsters in Alien? And even the sequel was pretty badass - and Alien: Prometheus was a return for the original director Ridley Scott. He took it in a slightly different direction, but no less scary.
And now the next Alien trailer has come out and the film is due to be a return to form and more in line with the original.
Alien: Covenant looks amazing; chilling, scary and with some great aliens.
Take a peek at the official trailer.

The Cast
James Franco and Danny McBride are in the trailer - which is a little weird as they're usually in slapstick comedies. But it looks like Franco might be killed off pretty early - who knows? We may have a new Ripley in Katherine Waterson who plays Daniels - she's an expert terraformist on the colonisation mission and third in command when the film starts; just like Ripley was.
Noomi Rapace is returning as Elizabeth Shaw - but in what capacity we don't know. Flashback?
Return to the Same Planet
It's set 10 years after the events of Prometheus and follows a team of terraformers who pick up a distress call. Well, doesn't that sound familiar - just like Ridley Scott's original film! The crew of Covenant find a paradise-like planet - but of course it's anything but.

More Blood
Ridley Scott listened to the criticism of Prometheus and has put more aliens and more blood in Covenant. Apparently they used over 1000 litres of fake blood in the film! That's so gross. But it bodes well. This is an R-rated movie (an 18).
Lovers Not Fighters
The crew is made up of couples, not fighters. They're sent to colonise a new planet with their offspring. They don't have the fighting skills of Ripley, for example. And they seem more keen to party, drink and gamble than anything else.

Michael Fassbender Is Back
He's playing both a new android called Walter, a benign member of the Covenant's crew and also the evil David who is the only other inhabitant of the new planet. In Prometheus we last saw him roaming around without a head after being decapitated by an engineer - so who knows if he got his head back.
In the prologue, Walter saves one of the crew members from choking by whacking her on the back, and although he saves her life, it's quite creepy.

Xenomorphs Are Back
Ridley Scott has promised that the monsters will be the same as the original xenomorphs from the 1979 Alien movie. We see all sorts of evil creatures in the trailer; from egg to facehugger to full-on chestburster. In Prometheus we saw Noomi Rapace grow one in her womb - are they still evolving into the creatures we saw in the original Alien?
Prometheus was never going to be as good as the original Alien films - they are classics (let's conveniently forget the third one with Winona Ryder).
It's out in May - cannot wait!
