Jamal Edward's mum Brenda sang a Whitney Houston song at her son's vigil following his sudden death two days ago (20 February). Watch below:

Brenda, who finished fourth in the second series of The X Factor, performed one of the all time hits 'Greatest Love of All' in a moving tribute to her son who passed away the age of 31.

As she gracefully sang through a megaphone last night, the emotional lyrics to the song were: "I believe the children are the future. Learning to love yourself - it is the greatest love of all."

The YouTuber was the founder of SBTV, an online music platform that helped boost the careers of some of the country's biggest stars, including Dave and Ed Sheeran.

His mother, who's also known as a Loose Women panellist, released a statement yesterday (21 February), which was read out by Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain.

It read: "It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that may beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday (20 February) after a sudden illness.

"I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.

"Jamal was an inspiration to myself and so many. Our love for him lives on, his legacy lives on.

Adam Deacon wrote: "Today I was on set when I found out the tragic news that my good friend Jamal Edwards had passed away and I’m honestly heartbroken. Jamal was one of the nicest, most down to earth and humble men I’ve met in this industry. He always gave me time even when no one else would.

"He was an inspiration and what he achieved in life was truly remarkable. Thinking of his friends and family at this devastating time. RIP Jamal Edwards."
