Jimmy Carr Recalls Most Offensive Joke He's Ever Written In Resurfaced Footage

The comedian has recently been slammed for his 'truly disturbing' jokes

In a resurfaced clip Jimmy Carr has revealed the most offensive joke he's ever written.

The comedian has recently faced criticism for his holocaust joke in his Netflix special His Dark Material.

During the brief segment, Carr talks about the Holocaust and the horrific atrocities committed by the Nazis - remarking that it wasn't all bad.

He says: "When people talk about the Holocaust, they talk about the tragedy and horror of six million Jewish lives being lost to the Nazi war machine.

"But they never mention the thousands of Gypsies that were killed by the Nazis.

"No one ever wants to talk about that, because no one ever wants to talk about the positives."

With the talk of cancel culture looming, resurfaced footage from a season two episode of The Green Room with Paul Provenza in 2011 has been doing the rounds on social media.

The 49-year-old was asked: "What is the most offensive joke you've ever written?"

To which, Carr responds: "If only Africa had more mosquito nets, then every year we could save millions of mosquitoes from dying needlessly of AIDS."

However, the joke that's causing huge controversy right now is the one previously mentioned from his Netflix special.

The joke horrified many of those who watched it, with people calling for the show to be pulled from Netflix.

One Facebook user posted the clip on his page alongside the caption: "Really goes to show what some people think.

"I have one thing to say thank you for sharing your views on gypsies as this spreads hate. And it shows the world the abundance of abuse we take as gypsy people, glad the audience found it funny."

His post has been viewed thousands of times on Facebook and has since been shared on Twitter.

The Traveller Moment, a group of people who aim to uphold 'the rights of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people', also commented on the clip.

They wrote: "This is truly disturbing and goes way beyond humour. We need all your support in calling this out."

One user wrote: "This is shocking he should be ashamed of himself and the audience laughing."

Someone else commented: "How is this ok... He should be ashamed of himself."

"An absolute disgrace shame on him," a third added said.
