Johnny Depp was once arrested when he was together with Kate Moss.

The British supermodel, who dated Depp in the 1990s, appeared in court by video link today (25 May) to testify for Depp in his defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.

Depp, 58, is suing Heard, 36, in a $50 million (£38 million) defamation lawsuit over abuse claims she made in a 2018 article in The Washington Post, despite not mentioning Depp by name in the op-ed.

Via videolink in Fairfax County District Court, Moss said she slipped down the stairs while vacationing in Jamaica with the actor, which contradicts rumours Heard repeated on the witness stand that Depp had pushed the supermodel.

Asked whether Depp had ever pushed her down stairs, Moss replied: "No, he never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs."

Well, Depp and Moss were said to be in a 'passionate' relationship, back in the day, lasting from 1994 to 1997.

The couple reportedly first met at New York's Caf Tabac, according to Hello Magazine.

At the time, the actor was 31 and model Kate was 20.

"I knew from the first moment we talked that we were going to be together," Kate later said of their introduction.

"They can't keep their hands, lips, mouths, legs off each other," a friend of Johnny's told People magazine back in 1994.

However, in September 1994, Johnny was arrested for criminal mischief for trashing his hotel room.

Police reportedly found him in 'a state of possible intoxication'.

Kate was uninjured.

A judge dismissed the charge after Depp agreed to pay for the $9,767 (£7,784) damage, on the condition that the actor stayed out of trouble for six months, which he did.

Depp and Moss ended up separating in 1997, while some reports suggest that a rumoured engagement was on the cards.

"I have never got that emotional over a woman before," he said in a candid interview with Hello magazine in 1998.

In 2012, Kate told Vanity Fair: "There's nobody that's ever really been able to take care of me. Johnny did for a bit. I believed what he said. Like if I said, 'What do I do?' he'd tell me.

"And that's what I missed when I left. I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust. Nightmare. Years and years of crying. Oh, the tears!"

The couple now seem to be on good terms as appeared in court via videolink to support her former boyfriend.
