Their massive popularity saw them sell out in minutes when they were revealed as part of their Special Buys in January.

It's been hailed a miracle cure for insomniacs, and now the almighty weighted blanket is once again set to hit that centre aisle of oddities at your local Aldi Australia.

Aldi is restocking its hugely popular weighted blankets ahead of the cooler seasons to come. They were hugely popular last time they were on the shelves and they sold out in minutes.

Once again proving that they're hard to beat when it comes to a bargain, Aldi Australia is selling the doonas for just $89.99, with weighted blankets usually costing upwards of $200.

While a heavy blanket doesn't sound like anything particularly groundbreaking, they are said to be helpful when it comes to sleeping habits, helping pain and soothing anxiety.

According to Healthline, the 'extra weight mimics a therapeutic technique called deep pressure stimulation.'

"Deep pressure stimulation uses hands-on pressure to relax the nervous system. Doing so may help relieve pain, lessen anxiety and improve mood," the site reads.

The blankets are about the size of a double bed - perfect for when you feel the need to become a human burrito once the mercury drops in the winter months.

Shoppers quickly became excited over the news that the toasty-looking item was making a comeback, with many warning to get in quick before they run out once again.

One user said: "They will last 5 minutes"

Another said to 'be there by 8 at the latest and line up, they are really popular'.

Others spilled the beans on other stores you could grab a weighted blanket for a cheap price.

One Facebook user dished: "You can get them at Spotlight if that's an option for you, they go on sale pretty often as well."

Another added: "I got mine from Big W for the same price (7kg $89) if you miss out."

The blanket comes in two different weights, the 6.8kg which is suitable for people weighing between 55kg to 80kg, and a 9kg version which is for people weighing more than 80kg.
