Christmas (cough, Easter) has come early this year, as ALDI is bringing back a cult favourite: the iconic Hot Cross Bun-infused gin liqueur.

Some of the best food and drink creations in this world are usually two wacky ideas fused together. Just look at the cronut, or the Pad Thai Taco.

Along with Cadbury launching their Caramilk hot cross buns and the tasty combination of a giant Creme egg with crushed Mini Eggs in the shell, the good news just keeps coming.

So if you missed out last year, don't fret as ADLI announced that the Manchester Drinks Co's Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur would return to shelves as part of its upcoming Special Buys range ahead of festivities.

ALDI Australia Spirits and Beer Buying Director Paul Handley urges customers to get in quick if they want a chance of snatching it this Easter.

"After becoming an instant favourite with our customers when it was introduced last year, we're very excited to be bringing back our limited-edition Manchester Drinks Co's Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur for Easter again in 2022," he said.

"Like hot cross buns though, it's not sticking around forever so eager customers should pick up their bottle soon."

Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur is an amalgamation of nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and ginger flavours - that's right, she's versatile and blended together to create a full, rich taste of a hot cross bun merely in a glass.

Handley said: "Infused with all the delicious flavours of a hot cross bun, this rich and fruity gin liqueur is a great twist on a classic festive favourite and the perfect way to spice up your Easter festivities.

He added: "Enjoy it on the rocks, over ice or with a dash of soda."Like hot cross buns though, it's not sticking around forever so eager customers should pick up their bottle soon."

So, the next time you're in the mood for a little whimsical Easter charm, make sure you pick up one of these babies to go.

Hot Cross Bun Gin Liqueur will be available Wednesday, March 30, for $19.99 a bottle.
