Pierce Brosnan addresses Tom Hardy feud rumours after reports of tensions on-set of MobLand

Pierce Brosnan has addressed the feud rumours between him and MobLand co-star Tom Hardy.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Hardy had been kicked off the show due to falling out with his A-list co-stars, including Brosnan and Dame Helen Mirren.

Puck News claimed he had been 'fired' from production over allegations that he was frequently late to set and difficult to work with.

The Hollywood Reporter then added further fuel to the fire, claiming a source had said Hardy had committed ‘career suicide’ by sitting around in his trailer for hours and leaving Mirren and Bronsnan waiting around.

However, just days later the speculation was shut down and it was reported that the 48-year-old British star would be back for the third season.

A source told Variety at the time: "Tom was not fired, the door is not closed for Season 3 and things are being worked through creatively."

Amid all the rumour and speculation of a falling-out on set, Mirren was quick to try and quash any suggestion of bad feelings by proudly showing her support for Hardy on Instagram, sharing a snap of him as his MobLand character Harry Da Souza alongside the caption: “Love you now and always, Helen.”

And if that wasn’t a strong enough hint that the pair remained firm pals, she also had a very blunt response when asked if she’d work with him again.

Now, Brosnan has spoken out about the alleged falling out for the first time at the premier of the show’s second season.

Brosnan, 73, who reprised his role as the fierce head of a powerful mob family, Conrad Harrigan, told the Press Association: “Oh my God, it was a storm in a teacup, really.

“I love the dude. I love Tom Hardy. I’m a massive fan of the man’s work. Truly.

“We are rock solid as a company, as a family.

“Everyone shows up for work, and everybody’s just there on the spot. It moves very fast so it’s not like we go out and socialise and go to the pub or anything like that.

“Everyone goes home to their families and before you know it, you’ve done 10 episodes.”

Meanwhile, Hardy gushed that it was ‘privilege’ to work alongside such industry legends.

He told PA: “They’re awesome. In many aspects of course I look up to them. Coming up, these are actors that came before me.

“So to be able to work with them is a privilege, but also to be able to enjoy them, watching them spread their wings with their range now as well, and play against their type in some aspects, and really enjoy that is a beautiful thing to watch as a human being.

“These guys are really talented and they’re having a lot of fun. That’s beautiful.

“Taking it away as a person, just watching people enjoy themselves and watching a good team work together and having fun.

“That exists in the MobLand tribe, and Dame Helen and Pierce are of that family so in that respect, not only just to be a part of it, but to watch and observe them still enjoying themselves and pushing the envelope is brilliant.”
