We know how much Australian millennials love their avocado and their beer, so it was really only a matter of time before the two would eventually be combined into a bizarre hybrid beverage.

Enter Aussie Avo Ale, a result of Australian Avocados partnering with the craft beer legends at Grassy Knoll Brewing in order to create a limited batch of Avocado Beer.

While it sounds like an... intriguing mix, the product's description actually has it sounding pretty tasty, so consider our curiosities well and truly piqued.

The Aussie Avo Ale is described as being 'a refreshing full-bodied cream ale brewed with fresh Australian Avocados.' Not sure how many people want their beers to be creamy or avocado-y but, hey, if there's a niche market, why not plug it?

Avocados and beer came as a natural pairing for Grassy Knoll founder Jeff Argent, who founded the brewery on his passion for premium Australian-grown produce and his love of sipping a refreshing beer just on a summer's day.

Argent said of the brew: "Australian Avocados brings an entirely fresh and unique flavour profile to the beer.

"We've created a beer that hooks into the trend of cream ales and adding an avo has totally opened our minds to exploring and experimenting more with Australian Avocado recipes.

"We are really proud of the finished product and think Aussies who enjoy a crisp and tropical style of beer will be really surprised at the subtlety of texture the Australian Avocados add to this beer."

Matthew Dwyer, the Group Marketing Manager at Hort Innovation added: "In a year that has seen more Aussies than ever experiment at home in the kitchen with local produce, Australian Avocados is excited to show everyone just how versatile Australian Avocados are and how they can truly make everything better, even beer."

"We hope all Aussies will be inspired to add an Aussie Avo to their meal this summer."

Australian Avocados has also partnered with former MasterChef and Taste of Australia presenter Hayden Quinn, who has dished out some drool-worthy summer barbecue pairing recipes inspired by the Aussie Avo Ale beer

Hayden said: "Australian Avocados and beer are two of my favourite things, which is why I wanted to help elevate the flavours of a match made in heaven by adding Aussie Avo Ale to my dishes."

"The freshness of the salsa perfectly rounds out the tropical notes of the beer in the braised pork and balances its sweet flavours with the hot sauce."
