Donald Trump has testified that he was fearful that ‘dangerous’ fruits such as a pineapple were going to kill him in a sworn deposition released this week.

The former POTUS was accused of ordering security to attack protestors outside of Trump Tower on 3 September 2015, ahead of the 2016 election.

Trump denied such an order was made and swore under oath that he was incredibly afraid of fruit.

The deposition finished last October, but excerpts were released this week that alluding to Trump’s fear he would be bombarded by flying fruits, according to Business Insider.

Trump was asked whether he had told people to ‘knock the crap’ out anyone they see ‘getting ready to throw a tomato’, which he confirmed, however, claimed the comment was directed toward the audience and not security.

Trump said: “We were threatened.”

The lawyer asked: "How did you become aware that there was a threat that people were going to throw fruit?"

Trump answered: "We were told. I thought Secret Service was involved in that, actually. But we were told. And you get hit with fruit, it's...no, it's very violent stuff. We were on alert for that."

The lawyers apparently deliberated over whether a tomato was a fruit or vegetable before Trump broke in.

He said: "It's worse than tomato. It's other things also.”

"But tomato, when they start doing that stuff, it's very dangerous. There was an alert out that day."

When asked about his ‘knock the crap out of them’ statement Trump reiterated how dangerous fruit can be.

The former President said: “It was said sort of in jest. But maybe, you know, a little truth to it. It's very dangerous stuff.

“You can get killed with those things.”

Throughout the proceedings, Trump maintained that despite not knowing whether protestors would be throwing fruit, it was a ‘serious threat’.

He even started to deliberate over the possibilities of fruits more dangerous than… a tomato.

He said: "Well, a tomato, a pineapple, a lot of other things they throw.

"Yeah, if the security saw that, I would say you have to — and it's not just me, it's other people in the audience get badly hurt. Yeah, I think that they have to be aggressive in stopping that from happening.”

He added that the possibility of a flying banana would undoubtedly be cause for ‘getting aggressive’ at the protestors.

He said: "To stop somebody from throwing pineapples, tomatoes, bananas, stuff like that, yeah, it's dangerous stuff.”
