Married at First Sight Australia bride loses her job after getting ‘villain’ edit during show

Alyssa Barmonde recently revealed that she was made redundant from her executive assistant of seven years.

Alyssa Barmonde from Married At First Sight Australia has revealed she lost her job after receiving a 'villain edit' on the reality show.

The ex-Mormon and single mother recently revealed that she was made redundant from her executive assistant role that she'd had for seven years.

She explained that she received her notice shortly after the series finale was aired, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The bride had a particularly tumultuous season, which reared its ugly head when she was dumped in the woods by TV ‘husband’ Duncan James.

Yes, that's right - dumped in the woods.

“It was really dark for a couple of months,” she revealed to News Corp.

The star said she stopped watching the current season after the couples retreat episode 'because I could see what the edit was'.

She added: “It’s unreal, some of the messages people send to me on my personal phone number and business accounts.

"You can chat about your opinion of me in this highly edited show in person and on social media, but if you find my number, and write up the most vile message I’ve ever seen and hit send, that’s intent to hurt. It’s not on.”

Barmonde has even attempted to take control of the narrative by writing her own posts via her social media accounts to clarify what was happening behind the scenes.

However, producers have shot down these posts as the reality star won't gain access to her social media once the finale has aired in the UK.

She added: "They’re protecting the show and the narrative they’ve created, rather than letting me have my own voice.”

In the edit, Barmonde claimed that producers had removed important narratives regarding her relationship with James.

Off camera, she claimed that James didn't want to spend time with her, but as the cameras rolled, he said that her being a single mum would minimise their time together.

She said it was 'interesting' that the show had embellished her 'single mum' storyline.

But as for dating right now? Given the very recent public breakup, you won't find her on the apps any time soon.

“You’re more likely to see me at a play centre or Kmart,” she said.

Despite this, she wishes James 'well' in his future relationships.

Ah yes, the very diplomatic 'good luck with all your future endeavours' sign-off.

Chuck in a crisp handshake as well while you're at it.
