A US man has finally broken the long-standing Rubik’s Cube record in a jaw-dropping 3.13 seconds.

The crowd went absolutely bonkers when Max Park, 21, solved the puzzle in just over three seconds, officially making himself the world’s fastest speedcuber.

Park beat the previous record by 0.34 seconds, sending many on social media into a frenzy.

One person penned on Twitter: “I couldn't solve a Rubik’s in 3.13 hours.”

Another said: “This is the best thing I’ve seen all week. The look on his face when he sees the solution, the referee protecting the cube, and the kid’s reactions all = gonna watch the whole Rubik’s Cube doc asap on

@netflix."

A third marveled: “New Rubik’s Cube world record!! Congrats Max Park, absolutely incredible. No hesitation in his step, just flawless execution.”

While another commented: “I love the purity of everyone else’s reactions. It’s a competition, but they’re still thrilled for the guy.”

The Korean-American from California was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, according to Guinness World Records.

Max’s parents, Schawn and Miki, have supported their son’s passion for speedcubing since an early age.

“Cubing has proved to be a good therapy for Max to socialize and strengthen his skills,” they told the Guinness World Records.

When Max was a child, Miki first learnt the techniques of cubing, which he taught his son, who naturally had a knack for it.

Soon after, a 10-year-old Max surprised his parents by winning a cubing competition against college graduates from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and California Institute of Technology.

Since then, Max has continued to break numerous records.

He currently holds nine world titles, according to the World Cube Association (WCA) – the official body that oversees the sport of speedcubing.

His talent and skill even caught the attention of the Netflix film The Speed Cubers, which delves into the sport of speedcubing.

The film follows Park and fellow Rubik's Cube-solving champion Feliks Zemdegs, who, despite their competitiveness, foster a close bond.

The two first competed with one another in 2017.

"I heard the name Max from a couple of people who went to the US Nationals 2016, but he was a bit of a mystery to me,” Feliks said, as per the outlet.

“Though the two are rivals, they are also friends and it’s beautiful to watch Max looking up to Feliks in a way,” Miki added.
