Man causes thousands of pounds worth of damage after jumping on £225,000 McLaren

The man jumped on the car in broad daylight

A man in west London has been branded 'vile' after he was spotted jumping on the bonnet and windscreen of a £225,000 supercar. See the damage he caused here:

I know people can be very passionate about cars, but there's really no need to vandalise the ones you don't like. A simple 'I don't like that car' is more than sufficient. You don't even need to say it out loud.

It's actually unclear whether the man in this particular video had a vendetta against the car or its owner, celebrity supercar dealer George Gehdu, or whether they just felt like jumping on a car, but either way Gehdu was not happy about it.

The sales director appeared to witness the scene himself as it unfolded in Uxbridge, with the video he shared online showing the hooded man walking up the windscreen of the car before slamming his feet down on to the glass and the roof of the vehicle.

The windscreen caved inwards as he continued his jaunt up the pricey car and made his way to the boot, where he proceeded to stamp a few more times for good measure before jumping off the back of the car.

Alongside his video, Gehdu said he wouldn't let the footage 'get to' him, but explained he was putting it online as a warning to supercar owners.

"Please be careful as there are scum not even worth stepping on out there in this world who don’t want anyone to own anything nice," the dealer wrote.

Gehdu said the police were quick to arrive at the scene, and an image at the end of the video appears to corroborate the claim as it shows a man being restrained by police officers.

The man jumped on the car in the middle of the street.

However, Scotland Yard has said it is investigating the incident and no arrests have been made.

The car, a McLaren 720S, costs around £225,000.

Following the incident, Gehdu shared an update to his Instagram story in which he thanked those who had offered their support following the incident.

"I’m all good, I wasn’t involved in anything, it was just some scrawny little rat, nevertheless the police came in good time. A car is a car," he wrote.

"He definitely took his time and tried to damage it as much as possible, nevertheless I’m still out here and I’m still moving and that’s the main thing. I felt it was important to post tonight, what exactly happened because I want everyone out there to be careful."

The Met Police have said enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
