Mark Zuckerberg is one of the latest celebrities to take up MMA fighting, with his trainer describing him as a ‘silent killer’ in the ring.

The tech mogul has been training hard at Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu Academy in San Jose, California and it looks like he's becoming pretty proficient in the sport.

Khai Wu, a professional fighter, also known as The Shadow, revealed to The Information that the Facebook founder has been taking private sessions with him for the last several months.

Wu told the outlet that Zuckerberg is among the tech entrepreneurs that have recently taken up the hobby.

“We call them jiu jitsu nerds,” he said.

And while Zuckerberg might look like a scrawny little gamer on the surface, the billionaire has become somewhat of a weapon.

“You’d never expect these guys to be able to take you down. Next thing you know, they’re attacking you with these extremely technical moves,” Wu said.

“You don’t know this nerd is a silent killer.”

Wu also disclosed that the business magnate isn’t one to hold back in the ring.

“He’s never like, ‘Don’t do that,’.

“He’s actually asked, ‘Can you give me a little more resistance, a little more force? I want to feel it.’”

Zuckerberg has taken up ultimate fighting in the wake of him losing nearly half his net worth in 2022.

Bloomberg's Billionaires Index picked up on Zuckerberg’s price drop last week, with the Meta owner plummeting to 20th place on the index.

It’s the lowest 38-year-old Zuckerberg has found himself on Bloomberg’s list of the world's wealthiest people since 2014.

Laura Martin, senior internet analyst at Needham & Co, told the outlet that Zuckerberg’s company’s stock is being ‘dragged down’ by investments in the metaverse and ‘has to get these users back from TikTok’.

Martin also said Meta is ‘hampered by excessive regulatory scrutiny and intervention’.

But despite his business woes, Zuckerberg is confident of a Meta metaverse comeback.

While appearing on The Joe Rogan Podcast, he said: “You know the next vision for the broader internet could potentially get there, you just don’t know how long it takes and what exactly Meta’s role will be… all you know right now is, essentially, it’s going to cost a lot of money.

“My goal for these next set of platforms, they are going to be more immersive, and hopefully they’ll be more useful – but I don’t necessarily want people to spend more time with computers. I just want the time that people spend with screens to be better.”
