McDonald's fans are shocked after an employee confirms that the Mighty McMuffin contains a 'hidden' ingredient. Watch below:
As shown in the clip above, the ingredient appears to be a fairly clear liquid, which is squirted on the bun, pretty early on in the Muffin making process.

The Mighty McMuffin is available as part of their Festive Menu and you'll do well to get your hands on one.
The ingredients are:
- Muffin crown
- Tomato ketchup or brown sauce
- Round egg
- Two slices of bacon
- Sausage patty
- Cheese slice
- Muffen Heel
However, an unknown ingredient listed as 'Roast 'n' Fry' has thrown a massive curveball amongst viewers.

A step-by-step tutorial video was posted on TikTok channel @ashleyvong4 and one fan questioned: "What is Roast 'n Fry?"
The comments section is now turned off but there's no doubt that Maccies fans were spooked after spotted something unusual in the ingredients list.
In a follow-up video the TikToker describes the liquid as 'butter', which isn't totally accurate.

McDonald's went one step further and explained what we were actually seeing.
They told the publication: Roast 'n' fry is a Liquid Vegetable & Dairy Fat Blend. It is only used on McMuffins, and is also used to season/oil the egg rings.
"It adds moisture to the muffin so that it’s not dry – just like you would butter your muffin or bread at home."
McDonalds revealed that the Mighty McMuffin will only be available for a limited time.

It was released just yesterday (23 November) and good luck getting your hands on one.
The fast food chain said: "The Mighty McMuffin will be hitting restaurants on the same day as this year’s Festive Menu – which is packed with classics that our customers know and love including Big Tasty, Festive Pie, Cheese Melt Dippers and Celebrations McFlurry. Customers can also get their hands on our delicious McCrispy which was added to the permanent menu earlier this year."
McDonald’s have also embarked on a 'Christmas Card Tour', where they're giving away free 'Festive Food' and free Christmas Photo Cards for families to get '#ReindeerReady'.
