Ed Sheeran has made £44 million ($56.8m) over the past three years, it has been revealed.

According to the accounts for the singer's company, Ed Sheeran Limited, the 29-year-old has been raking it in off the back of the success of his sell-out shows and number one albums.

The statement for the year ending 31 December 2019, stated the company made £48.12m ($62.2m), but after tax and other expenses, that left Ed with just £10m ($12.9m).

When this is added to the previous two years - 2018 and 2017 - which saw the 'Put it all on Me' singer take £16.86m ($21.78m) and £17.11m ($22.10m) in dividends, respectively, Ed comes out with a massive £43.96m ($56.79m).

To put that into perspective, that works out at around £40,000 ($51,669) a day for the past three years. Which isn't too bad, is it?

But with his first child having just arrived, he'll need all the pennies he can save for nappies and dummies.

Last month, Ed and wife Cherry Seaborn announced they had just welcomed their 'beautiful and healthy daughter' Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran into the world.

Sheeran revealed in an Instagram post that Seaborn had given birth birth, adding that both she and their daughter were "doing amazing".

Sharing a photo of a baby blanket and socks on Instagram, the singer wrote: "Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you... Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.

"We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I'll see you when it's time to come back."

Sheeran and Seaborn remain fairly private about their personal life together, having kept fans guessing about their official status after marrying in secret.

They announced their engagement back in January 2018, but never publicly confirmed a wedding had taken place, despite various hints that they had tied the knot.

Last summer, however, Sheeran subtly mentioned their nuptials during an interview with iHeartRadio, when he was asked about the lyrics of 'Remember the Name', specifically the verse that says: "Watch how the lyrics in the songs might get twisted / My wife wears red, but looks better without the lipstick."
