The Reason Why Fetty Wap Only Has One Eye

And no, it has nothing to do with vaping.

Fans have always been quite confused about how Fetty Wap lost one of his eyes ever since his rise to musical fame with the hit track 'Trap Queen'.

However, the rapper - real name Willie Junior Maxwell II - actually shut down the rumours and explained the reason in an interview back in 2015.

Numerous theories have circulated online over the years, including claims that his eye was taken out in a vaping incident, he was involved in a shooting and one theory even speculated whether he'd lost an eye at all.

The truth is that it's none of the above and Fetty was actually involved in a tragic childhood accident.

Speaking with DJ Self on radio station Shade 45, he said: "I tell everybody it's nothing because it's really nothing to me.

"When I was little, I had gotten into a little accident and it gave me congenital glaucoma in both of my eyes.

"The doctor saved one, I was blessed to still have my vision. That's it. That's the story."

Although the star initially wore a prosthetic eye, he decided to get rid of it as a teenager after growing more comfortable with his unique look.

During his younger years, however, it was a different story.

Fetty described how he was bullied at school which often led to fights: "A lot of people are judgmental, but it's all on how you show yourself to the people.

"That's probably one of the main things people won't know about me until they see me."

Now, the rapper embraces his feature, adding: "I'm probably one of the first rappers/singers to come on the scene with one eye and be comfortable with it."

Fetty was in the news for an altogether different reason this week, as it was revealed he's been indicted along with five other people on a charge of a drugs trafficking conspiracy.

The federal prosecutors say the men are alleged to have transported and distributed drugs that include heroin and fentanyl in Long Island, New York.

CNN claims to have seen the indictment, and the musician was arrested at Citi Field on Friday (29 October) afternoon and was expected to be arraigned that day at a federal court in Brooklyn.

The five other people indicted are also charged with an additional count for use of firearms in connection with a drugs trafficking crime.

The US Justice Department said: "Maxwell was a kilogram-level redistributor for the trafficking organization."

"The fact that we arrested a chart-topping rap artist and a corrections officer as part of the conspiracy illustrates just how vile the drug trade has become," added Michael Driscoll of the FBI's New York Office.
