Donald Trump Set To Leave Hospital, Telling Followers 'Don't Be Afraid Of Covid'

Donald Trump will be leaving hospital today after reportedly recovering from Covid-19.

The president tweeted to his 86.9 million followers that he is feeling 'really good', and telling them not to be afraid of Covid.

Mr Trump wrote: "I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6.30pm. Feeling really good!

"Don't be afraid of Covid. Don't let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs and knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!"

Responding to criticism of his theatrical drive for his supporters, Mr Trump wrote: "It is reported that the Media is upset because I got into a secure vehicle to say thank you to the many fans and supporters who were standing outside of the hospital for many hours, and even days, to pay their respect to their President. If I didn't do it, Media would say RUDE!"

Speaking from behind a desk at his suite at the Walter Reed Medical Centre, Trump said he thought he would be back to work 'soon'.

He said: "I came here, wasn't feeling so well, I feel much better now. We're working hard to get me all the way back.

"Over the next period of a few days, I guess that's the real test.

"We'll be seeing what happens over those next couple of days."

Discussing his Presidential election campaign, Trump continued: "I'll be back, I think I'll be back soon, and I look forward to finishing up the campaign the way it was started and the way we've been doing and the kind of numbers that we've been doing."

The POTUS then joked that as his wife was 'slightly younger' than him she was handling it 'very nicely'.

In a statement released yesterday, Trump's physician said he was doing well but warned that he 'wasn't out of the woods yet'.

Just before the visit to his supporters, where he was accompanied by various members of staff, Mr Trump's medical team reported that his blood oxygen level dropped suddenly twice in recent days and that they gave him a steroid typically only recommended for the very sick.
