Yes, pilots are trained for all sorts of emergencies when it comes to flying planes and they need to know how to deal with numerous possibilities.
However, that doesn't mean it's any less spectacular when you see it in action.
According to The Mirror, this JetBlue flight 29 was travelling from Washington DC to the Bahamas yesterday when flight crew reported a problem with the aircraft's landing gear.

Bystanders on the ground in the Bahamian capital of Nassau, filmed the plane coming into land as its front landing gear failed to fully open.
As the plane connects with the surface of the runway sparks start to fly but the pilot manages to stay in control of the situation.
Well done to the pilot. The airline have since released a statement saying there have been no reported injuries.
