Christine Jiaxin Lee the Malaysian student who was accidentally given an unlimited overdraft and went on to spend $4.6million (£2.7million) has pleaded not guilty to dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.
The 21-year-old chemical engineering student was given an unlimited overdraft by Westpac after the bank made a processing error. Appearing in Sydney court yesterday Christine's lawyer told the Daily Mail that his client would be 'vigorously defending the charges'. Christine claims that she believed the money was transferred by her parents.

Christine made headlines earlier this year when news of her whopping $4.6million shopping spree was revealed. A full list of what Christine splashed the cash on is available here, but let's just say it included a lot of handbags, shoes and jewellery. She even managed to spend $220,000 in a single trip to the Christian Dior shop in Sydney. Jesus.
It is alleged that her 11 month spend-fest began in July 2014, when she spotted her unlimited overdraft and only ended in April 2015 when a senior manager at Westpac realised the mistake and called Christine demanding she explain what happened to the millions.
Christine was arrested in May by immigration officials as she tried to fly from Sydney to Malaysia.
