Archie will turn four on May 6 next year, which is the very same day that the new King will be crowned amid great fanfare and pageantry at Westminster Abbey.
Some people haven't taken the double booking too kindly and have rushed to social media to vent their outrage.
Hashtags such as 'Charles the Cruel' have even started to trend as a result.
Charles scheduling his #coronation on same day as Archie's birthday is not an oversight. In pattern with his vindictive attitude towards the family, that seems deliberate. What a petty, mean spirited way to begin his rule! #PrinceHarry #KingandPrince #ARCHIE #RoyalFamily— Elaine's Insights 💙 Motivational (@ESiheraESC) October 11, 2022
The Coronation of King Charles III and Camilla, Consort Queen will be held on May 6 2023. The date is also little Archie's birthday. I bet Harry and Meghan are keen to come, but will they be invited? Harry's memoirs and Meghan's podcast might make all the difference.— Angela Levin (@angelalevin1) October 11, 2022
So the date was set by the palace and the church... bet no one knew it was Archie's 4th birthday because no one plans with the Sussexes anymore. #coronation— Adelsexpertin (@Adelsexpertin) October 11, 2022
One social media user said: "So the date was set by the palace and the church. Bet no one knew it was Archie's fourth birthday because no one plans with the Sussexes anymore."
A second added: "Charles chose his coronation date so he didn’t have to attend Archie’s fourth birthday. His selfishness is astonishing."
A third said: "Charles scheduling his coronation on the same day as Archie's birthday is not an oversight. In pattern with his vindictive attitude towards the family, that seems deliberate. What a petty, mean spirited way to begin his rule."
Others pointed out that those responsible for selecting the date probably had more to consider than a fourth birthday.
One user said: "The chosen date of the King’s coronation should take into consideration the birthday of a four-year-old non royal. I've never heard anything more ridiculous."
Another added: "I think the coronation committee and the UK Government had bigger considerations than Archie’s birthday when choosing a date for King Charles III's coronation."
Others pointed out that Archie's own father, Prince Harry, was busy playing polo on his son's last birthday, so the coronation is hardly a snub.
How ludicrous! The chosen date of the King’s Coronation should take into consideration the birthday of a 4year old non royal??!! Never heard anything more ridiculous. My understanding is that Harry was playing polo on Archie’s third birthday.— Zanne (@Tweetzanne) October 13, 2022

Guest lists have yet to be confirmed for the spectacle, however the spectacle is set to be a little different.
The May 6 event will be a deeply religious ceremony held at Westminster Abbey with the Queen Consort being crowned alongside Charles, Buckingham Palace announced.
The Palace said the ceremony will be 'rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry' but also 'reflect the monarch's role today and look towards the future'.
Charles will be anointed with holy oil, receive the orb, coronation ring and sceptre, be crowned with the majestic St Edward's Crown and blessed during the historic ceremony.
Camilla will also be anointed with holy oil and crowned, just like the Queen Mother was when she was crowned Queen in 1937.
